Hi, we are HILAB — a consultant company specializing in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development.
When the automotive industry shifted toward being more software-defined, it fundamentally changed how systems are built. Instead of integrating decentralized systems from suppliers, today’s vehicles rely on in-house developed software running on centralized ECUs.
This change provides more flexibility and value for customers, but it also raises the bar for testing and verification. Now, software needs to meet the high standards expected in modern automotive environments. That's why HIL and SIL test environments are more essential than ever.
HILAB's founders, Eric and David, saw the growing need for advanced software testing and the lack of deep expertise in the field — and created HILAB to solve exactly that.

Eric is a development engineer specializing in HIL. With over 6 years of experience in the automotive field, he has worked with almost every aspect of early software development.
Eric studied Engineering Physics and Electronics at Luleå University Of Technology, while doing summer internships at Volvo Cars HIL department. Since his graduation, he's worked in with HIL development at both Volvo Cars and Trucks in different capacities.
